We carry screen fabric for both front and rear projection DIY screens. The front projection fabric is white with a black backing cut from a 3.2m roll and is similar to the surface used for fast-fold screens. The rear projection surface is also cut from a 3.2m roll and is silver-grey (no black backing) and used for fast-fold rear projection screens. We sell this fabric without eyelets or press-studs. Constructing a suitable frame and securing and tensioning the screen surface is not a simple matter. We strongly suggest that you consider a ready-made screen such as the SG Audio Visual Folding Screens. If you still want to construct your own frame our recommendation is to avoid building wooden frames and to carefully consider a way of tensioning and if necessary re-tensioning the screen surface using eyelets or press studs. Smaller front-projection screens may be constructed by stretching screen fabric around a sheet of MDF or marine ply. Larger screens require a tube metal frame of sufficient strength to allow for the tensioning of the surface.
